Central lozenge depicting the crucifixion stamped in gilt on both covers. Gilt floral tool in each spine compartment. All text block edges gilt. Bookplate and shelf label of Charles William Dyson Perrins. Pencil note on the front pastedown reads, "The facsimile "privilege" leaf was replaced by a genuine leaf from another copy. May 1936." Pencil collection note for Quaritch on rear pastedown.
